I think you need to add another name to the list:
GoPro (Eric)
Annold Schwarzenegger
Franco Columbu
Ronnie Coleman
Dorian Yates
The Rock
Batista
Brock Lesner
Frank Zane
Mike Tyson
John McEnroe!!!!!!!
None of the above
I'm just curious what makes a great training partner?
A lais back type of person or an explosive type? Or a partner that challenges you set after set?

My Goal: To be better than yesterday
Eh, Mike Mentzer. He'd probably push you just enough. He sounds like he was a friendly guy, kinda laid back, but focused.
I think Arnold would be annoying. From watching Pumping Iron, I mean.

One thing that makes a great training partner is one that is at or close to your level, and has the same goals as you.
I would not want to train with a pro bodybuilder, at least not one like Ronnie Coleman cause he would be lifting 3 times the amount of weight as me.
bahhhh Id must rather train with someone else rather than those guys!![]()
" To dream anything you want to dream: That is the beauty of the human mind. To do anything you want to do: That is the strength of the human will. To trust yourself to test your limits: that is the courage to succeed."
Someone doing the same program as you, with the same goals in mind.
Motivated, DEDICATED and knowledgable. I prefer someone whos intelligent, over someone whos strong. You cant teach common sense.
"Show me a beautiful woman, and I'll show you a guy tired of screwing her"
No contest. I'd have to pick my all time idol.....
The one and only......the greatest........Arnold Schwarzenegger.
although training w/Ronnie and Dorian would be pretty f@ckin intense as well.....

Ya know, that Ronnie recently finished running a raffle for a training weekend with him in Texas. I almost bought you a chance, but I got afraid that between that "Surrender Ronnie" tattoo and you drivin' his car around like you own the town that he'd be makin' you his b*tchboi in the gym and putting posters of his back next to yours up in every magazine.Originally posted by Flex

I agree. I would feel weak and pathetic training with someone like Arnold. I'd love to meet him though.Originally posted by Prince

If I had to pick someone though, I'd pick Lance Armstrong. Sure he'd kick my ass on a bike, but I'd clobber him in the weight room (except on legs day).![]()

No one on that list. Where are the powerlifters? I'd pick Ed Coan.
You forgot to add some females to that list!![]()
I'll train with you Jill.
Just leave Dr. Phil at home.

I actually.... very briefly, worked out with Larry Pacifico at his gym in Dayton, Ohio. He showed me proper bench form. I always thought Lee Haney would have been a great work out partner. Anyone remember his show on ESPN? He seemed to be a good motivator, but with a sense of humor.

C'mon man -- You would have chosen Dorian Yates for that!
He definitely had pretty much of Mike Mentzer in him!

But dont you think "LIFTING HOW MUCH WEIGHTS" doesn't matter!
Arnold said the same.
You just have to choose a guy that can feed you energy and have incredible chemistry together.

All i can say is.. i hate when you ask somebody to spot you and they dont let you lift the damn weight!!!

for all you John McEnroe haters... I'd just like to say he would definitely be more enjoyable to workout with than a bunch of muscle head freaks...
And yes... on a bodybuilding site... I said muscle head freaks!
Only exception I see on that list is Arnold, cuz I really this he's had a truly incredible life and has done incredible things.
Are you kidding me????

IMO, Rock would be just as entertaining as John!

I do like the Rock... I'll give ya that one
I'm not a wrestling fan, but all the interviews I've seen with him or any types of specials he's done, he's very funny... seems like a pretty cool guy...

Mike Tyson........Now that would be a very interesting workout![]()
Yeah. You would probably have to train with your EARS, NOSE AND JUST ABOUT EVERY IMPORTANT BODYPART "FULLY INSURED"
