Yea man, if you're working pecs directly that's too much. Please post your workout routine. You may be working your pecs through other excercises that may not target your pecs directly other times in the week aside from your designated "pec" day...setting three days for just your pectoral excercises is far too much.

In my opinion yes it is, I do not believe in hitting a muscle more than once every 5 days.

Now there are other training methods out there that advocate a higher frequency in training only allowing 48 hours of rest, but you would reduce the overall volume and spread it out over the 3 days.

How many sets do you do when you train chest 3 days per week?

When I work my chest. I do 4 sets 10,8,6,4 increasing weight with each set. I do decline, incline and flat bench with dumbells and finish with machine flys. I do this on Mon, Wed, Sat. Maybe this is too much. And sorry about posting in the wrong spot.

Yes, that is too many sets to be doing 3 times per week, why not reduce to once a week, or once every 5-6 days, and see how you feel.
