Is it possible to get full workout using dumbells?

I bought a nice set of dumbells a few months ago and I've been wanting to use them instead of barbells. Are there any sites or books around that illustrate how to target the entire body using dumbells?

It is absolutely possible to do any body part only with dumbbells.

Today I can do what others will not so that tomorrow I will do what others cannot.

The difference between winners and losers is that winners do things that losers don't want to do.

Dumbells are probably the best tool for all upper body exercises. They require you to use more muscles to stabilize the lift. The best leg and back lifts seem to be done with equipment and barbells. However, there are still plenty of good leg and back lifts that can be done with dumbells.

personally i prefer the bar... It involves the most basic exercises!
You use for bench, curls, military press, squats...

LOL!

To answer your question yes you can substitute dumbells instead of barbells. It may also benefit you in those excersises as the change could shock the muscles. Remember to do what feels right for you and what anyone else says.
