30 lbs LBM in 6 months? Try 6 years.

I'm natural and so are my gym mates...nobody has put on more than 30-40 lbs LBM in the 6 years I've gone here. Were talkin cut to ripped...LBM. I started as a 165 stick, 6 years ago...now I'm 200 (built, not huge...) at about 12% bf and cutting. This is average (LBM) for most of the "naturals" I know (about 10 of em with varied training styles). I'm tired of reading and hearing the lies, and so are they! Emphasis is on LBM there, waterboy.

    Flame away....

I have to agree here for the most part. I dont think that most people of normal height can get to be much larger than 220 or 230 or so naturally. Naturally meaning no prohomones either, obviously. This is just in my experience of course, however.

I also tend to agree. Why is it that everywhere you read you see people saying how they gained 30, 40, 50 lbs. of muscle in 3 months, or 6 months when 80% of others take years to do that?

In a little more then two years of working out I put on about 40 pounds. I'm sure alot of it had to do with growing, I probally put on 4 inches.

usually these people are like 16 years old and are still developing and have high test levels... i would think like 20-30 pounds in 6 months could be done pretty easily at 16-17 years old.....

I'm not talking about 16 year olds mainly, I'm mostly referring to those people who have created programs promising 30-40 lbs. of muscle in a few months time. That kind of thing.

I think that most of the time people who gained this amount of muscle just started lifting. Me and a friend of mine both experienced explosive gains like that. Both of our gains are slowing at this point though.

oh... well i did it at 17. it wasnt ALL muscle, but my bench went up about 80 pounds as i put on 30 pounds of weight. so a great deal was muscle. its a lot easier to gain lbs when you weigh 130 than when youre 200, also. this all happened in 3 months. i agree, a lot of these people are having growth spurts.

I know what some of you are saying...20-30 lbs LBM in first year because you are just starting out and you experience explosive gains...

...then when you start to figure all of the elements of training out and begin to train smart and eat correctly, 10 lbs LBM in 5 years.

    Makes perfect sense!

If you're only packin on 30 pounds in 6 years you're doing something wrong.

    5 pounds a year?

I think a reasonable amount of muscle a year would be in the 10-15 lb range for a natural if he is truly dedicated.

what do u think is so absurd about gaining a lot when you first start lifting seabee?? and when it happened to me, it was when i finally started lifting RIGHT, i had been lifting for a long time before that. i cant understand why you call other people liars just because they are seeing better results than you! btw, if i saw only 10 pounds of lbm in 5 years of trianing like i do now, i think i would just give up, or at least try to figure out what im doing wrong.

I can put 5+ pounds on in 2 weeks? It may not consist of muscle, but it can be done very simply.

if the person is new to resistance training AND they had previously been malnurished a weight gain of 30-40 lbs (mostly muscle) is not unheard of.

however for an ATHLETE who has been involved in resistance training for many years those types of results are not seen with out the use of AAS..

One says 30+ lbs 1st year. Another says 15 lbs per year. I suck at math but if my numbers are correct, I should have added 100 - 105 lbs of LBM in 6 years. As a natural!

    move it up a notch

I'm with Titans1854. If you're not seeing the results you want, and you want it bad enough, I would see a trainer.

I have been told when bulking you should eat 20x your weight in calories. While everyone is different, because I am usually pretty active and have a physical job anyway, I need 30x my weight in calories.

I know a guy who said he had a 5k calorie diet and still never gained any weight, and he was my size. ???

not neccessarily premier, some people are just like that

There are a few guys i know that have mecca-fast metabolisms

Like one guy is 6'1" and he only weighs like 130? or less

And he eats like a pig im serious. and he doesnt do any form of exercise, what if he was to weightlift 4 times a week and do 2 cardio sessions a week??? then he'd need like 8000 calories to grow probably

It is bullshit... I hear people always saying "I eat so much! and cant grow!". Its because they think they are eating alot. They dont count their calories, and they dont know the right foods to eat. I am 5'8" and 190Lbs. I am bulking on 4600+ cals a day, and gaining 1 1/2Lbs a week. Once they start counting calories and know how to eat right then they will gain. Also why the hell would someone do cardio on a bulk? Seriously.
