    Working Out And Cutting

Just a quick question, during a cut, what is the ideal split or amount of days to work out? Alot or lower, any help is appreciated. Thanks

I don't think it really matters, as long as you are doing a lot of cardio and eating properly.

No, it does matter I believe, because with a cut your taking in less calories so if you workout, or do to much cardio you end up burning just as much lean mass. I think, thats what I;m trying to find out.

I find it damned near impossible for me to cut any weight without losing LBM. It's always best to do cardio on separate days from lifting. However, if you can't, then do the cardio a few hours after you are done lifting. I would say do a 3 day lifting split, with about 10 minutes of cardio at the beginning for a warmup. Make another 3 days cardio days, in which you do a lot of cardio.

No, what I am trying to say is you want to lose the most minimal amount of LBM while cutting, you do lose some but you don't want to los more than you have to, and since you don;t need cardio to get really cut up, cardio if doen to much might deplete your LBM by more than you would like.

I disagree. You do need to do cardio if you want to get cut. Either that, or you have to eat less food, which I think would lead to losing LBM faster than doing cardio and eating properly. Most anyone who posts on these forums increases their cardio drastically before a competition to cut. Try HIIT cardio; it is supposed to burn more fat than muscle.

just keep working out as you are. a cut is mostly diet adjustment. cut down your caloric in take by about 500 cals a day and base your meals around protien. cardio is not necessary.

Everyone is different. People with high metabolisms may not need cardio. People like me, DO need it. What is more important is reduction of calories and solid protein intake. (Notice I said SOLID, not ridculous amounts like 2 or 3 grams per lb.)

Rule of thumb, any more than 2 lbs lost per week is probably muscle.

i say reduce by 500 cals and aim for a pound per week. you are right camaro, i have always been lean and never needed cardio to cut but some people are dealing with significant amounts of fat and would take too long just by diet.

Cardio is unnecessary. However, I am saying this from my own personal standpoint, I believe cardio is a stigma that too many people rely on. Clean up your diet, there are all sorts of tricks you can play on your body to continue losign fat while still remaining fed and not putting your body in starvation mode.

    Peace.

One thing I'm noticing this time around in this current cut, is, I am using a during w/o shake, with dex, and MAN does it make the difference when low-carbing it. Just something to consider if you want to increase workout energy.
