Re: lower back exercise?

Well what i ment by low impact is i have four buldging disks in my back and i want to strengthen the muscles around them to take the "pressure" off of them, BECAUSE IT HURTS

< kinda like this

Hey Spitfire, read MissOz's post three more times and then read it again. Believe it or not, a majority of the worlds back problems would go away if people would strengthen their abs, thus taking stress off their backs.

Rules? You mean we have RULES for that???

Thank you all for your info.
I do work my abs for that, i have noticed some improvement in my back by doing so.
i do nothing for my back like prince pointed out, there's not much i can do with out bending over (which pushes my discs out)
i don't know, maybe i just hoped for a miracle exercise that i just haven't thought of or something like that. maybe something that strengthens muscles near the lower back that i wasn't getting otherwise.
All i really can do right now is knee lifts. They get real easy real fast.
Thaks again for your help, and if there is anything anyone else thinks of please let me know

Dont train like a jackoff and its all low impact

I do SLDL with 325, slow reps. I touch the floor with the plates I do NOT go further than that, I dont trust my spine with that. Hyperextentions are also cool.

If it causes problems use less of a range of motion with very slow reps IMO.

You need a good physical therapist. They have the equipment and direction you need.

My suggestions would be lay down on your back and do leg lifts, sissor lifts the bicycle etc. This will strengthen the lower abs with almost no leaning foward. Flip over and do reverse leglifts and hold for a few seconds one leg at a time. This might hurt. If it hurts bad stop or proceed with care.

Mudge always uses acronyms...
I often wonder myself why he doesn't just spell out what he means. I consider myself advanced and still don't know all the terms. So for SLDL, just say single leg dead lifts. It really is not that much more to type You should visit the anobolic section, you would really be confused by the acronyms tossed around there
