    seperating cardio and weight work?

    Is it necessary to do cardio and weights at least 4 hrs apart?
    I usually do weights followed by cardio and was wondering if that's wrong to do?

    Not wrong imo.

    Separate sessions within a day would give you two different opportunities at positive nutrient partitioning via exercise which is meaningful for some. I like the idea anyhow.

    If you are worried about catabolism due to to straight workout time (weights and cardio), how about consuming nutrients (pro+cho for example) during workout to minimize the risk?

    I am making all kinds of assumptions about what you really want to know as the question wasn't so detailed. Hope it helps. Just wanted to provide some reason behind my answer of 'no'. Not sure where the 4 hours came from either?

    i like to break up my cardio session and my weight session so i can go max on each one. I sometimes do light warmups like running a mile or something before i lift, but i save my harder cardio for later in the day when i lift in the morning.

    I do about 10 minutes of cardio as a warmup before I lift, but doing cardio right after lifting isn't the best idea. You're going to cause catabolization. Some people don't even do cardio at all while they are bulking.

    I say wait a few hours after you lift. If you are trying to bulk, then eat right after lifting and again about 30 minutes before you do cardio. If possible, do cardio on days that you don't lift. Just make sure you leave at least one day a week where you don't do any intense exercise.

    If your metabolism sucks, then all of this might not be so important for you. My metabolism goes crazy when I do a lot of cardio. I have to eat all day long to make any gains.

    1) cardio in the morning before breakfast
    2) weight lifting in the later part of the day after you have got some food in your system
