    Any snowboarders here?

Here is what hurts after my first day of snowboarding:
    • Left ankle
    • Both biceps
    • Traps
    • Front and back of neck
    • Tailbone
    • Left ass cheek
    • Both hips

Oddly enough, my forarms and wrists are fine. I don't know where that pain in the front of my neck came from.

What a workout that was. After three hours of lessons on the bunny hill, I took a few runs down the main mountain. By the end of the day, I was actually snowboarding. I must have burned 1500 calories yesterday. Anyway, time to buy a board.

Anyone else here snowboard? I've been skiing for about six years but wanted to give snowboarding a try.

I too just started....two weeks ago, and I think my tailbone was the ONLY part of my body that DIDN`T hurt for two days afterwards.

No practising for me though....striaght on the chairlift and to the top of the mountain.....t`was a long trip down. By the end of the day, I was doing something, though to call it "snowboarding" would be insulting to the others on the mountain

Going again next week though, and can`t wait.

As I live in Japan and everything is so damned small, I had to buy everything from the start.

I made the switch from skiing to snowboarding last year and can't get enough of it. It takes a while to learn but it's worth it. It makes you sore as hell in the begining but it goes away like anything else. I went last weekend and wasn't sore at all. Problem is that you're burning ~2000 cals if you're out all day so you have to eat like a horse to keep from burning too much muscle. Drink like double the usual amout of water also.

Cool! Damn, right to the top of the mountain, eh? My first trip down the main mountain was nothing but falling and tumbling. I figured it out though and my last run of the day was fall-free.

I am lucky enough to have two cousins who are instructors at Mt Snow, so I got hooked up with free rental equipment, free lessons, and cheap lift tickets.

Good point about drinking. I did not drink a lot and was dehydrated by the end of the day. I pounded two Gatorades when I was done riding.

    LOL@free-fall!

There were too many on the practice hill so the people I was with said lets hit the top where it`ll be a little less steep and fewer people. It was DAMNED steep, but less people to hit so I was off....and then began rolling

First trip down took about 45 minutes :o :o LOL

Great deal! I just missed out on getting in the snowboard class as I was helping my daughter get into her first ski class ( which she LOVED ) so had no choice but to jump into it or sit out for half a day.

I got lucky with all my gear too. I found a shop that had accidentally ordered a huge pair of step in boots. They fit me perfectly and were 75% off because they couldn`t sell due to the size.

I picked up a brand new Forum Jerry Jones board at about 30% cost on an internet auction and was set

Cool deal on the equipment, Kuso. I have no clue what to buy, so I need to do some research. I was going to buy new ski boots, but I'm going to buy boarding equipment instead.

Holy crap are my hips sore.
