    Need your opinion fast

I work out in my home. I have the opportunity to purchase a new Body Solid hack squat machine for $699. This is the last one they have. My question is, is it worth it? Is this a good machine for leg workouts or would I be better off spending my money on something else. I have a squat rack and I do squats as a part of my workout. Really appreciate any opinions.

those things usually turn into coat racks. You are paying for more than just the use of weights at a gym. The environment is a killer on the psyche. You can't get that in your basement/

Gee cpa, guess everything thinks this would be a waste of $699.... including me. Truth be told, all you really need to build a massive pair of legs is squats, and you have the rack. Supertech's suggestion of doing lunges with DBs is perfect for cutting up those bulked up quads.

Mucho thanks for the input. My logic was that it is hard to max out on squats since I usually workout by myself. As far as joining a gym, the closest is about 30 minutes away and closes at 9:00pm. I have a 4 year old so I try to spend time with him after work til his bedtime, so that wouldn't leave enough time to workout at the gym. (I belonged to the gym for a few years before he was born). As far as the "bitches" go, I couldn't bring them home (beautiful, younger wife at home) so that is not alot of motivation.
I was thinking that the hack squat would allow me to use heaver weight plus it is good for calf exercises. I really do appreciate your input and if anyone has any reasons why I should buy it, let me know.

    Thanks again!

Honestly Dave, if you think you will use it over a prolonged period it might be a good investment. I for one love working out at home. I get extra time with my wife and son and I can work out whenever the mood strikes me. I've belonged to many gyms in the past and have never been as motivated and made as much progress as I have since I built my own home gym (Plus the old ladies at the gym hate Metallica cranking in the background). Every time I want to purchase a new piece of equipment, I start putting $65 a month a side for it (That's what it would cost me at the YMCA down the road). When the money is saved, I buy it. I'm actually about to buy a Leg sled/hack squat myself. I currently do squats religiously, and will continue to do so, but would love to be able to pile on the weight and not have to worry about a spotter. At $699, you'll have your new leg press paid off in a year or less. Not a bad ivestment in my mind. Most fitness stores have same as cash for 12-24 months on large purchases, so you can use their money for a year or two. Good Luck!
