    Drinking Water During Workouts

I used to drink water while I worked out. Now, I only do it before and after my workouts. A friend of mine told me that it's not good to drink water in the middle of lifting. I would like to hear people's opinion's on this...

    Hes being sarcastic...

It is good to drink water, especially if you sweat a lot. Sometimes I drink a lot, sometimes I dont. Basically if your thirsty, DRINK!

I say drink as much water you possibly can without feeling sick when you start to lift again. Even if youre not thirsty.

water is good but not gatorade cause it doesn't feel good to lift right after you drink some.

Here, here. I've said that for years, but everyone thinks i'm crazy. Gatorade might replenish your electrolytes, but I almost feel like it drains me. So I only use it to mix vodka with

it might be the calories in gatorade or something that makes me feel bad. it's probably like eating in between sets. water is good because it doesn't fill me up as much as gatorade or powerade.

I too drink water after every set from the water fountain. The only think that sucks is sometimes during a great workout I have to stop in between sets to walk downstairs and use the restroom. Hate that.

I usually drink water, but especially after squats or deads, when I feel like I'm going to pass out.

I sweat like a fat pig in the middle of the Sahara. It's a good thing I asked this question. I may have continued not to drink water during my workout, and I definitely prefer drinking during workouts. I couldn't come up with any kind of logical reason why water drinking would be bad during a workout, but I thought there was a scientific reason behind it. I used to drink 1-2 liters during a good workout. I think I will continue that trend once again. Thanks.
