    Muscle gains

On an average, how much muscle would you say you could put on in three month or six month?

Naturaly... just muscle no fat....not much. For a natural bodybuilder to put on 7 or so pounds of muscle in a year is doing great. But if your starting from totally non working out and your eating right you could gain more. It takes time and dedication to build muscle.

In 7 years I went from 155 to 205. I'm cutting and am down to 195 at 10%BF. To be shredded I need to lose 10 lbs. Thats 30 lbs LBM in 7 years. Thats a 4 + lb average a year, and I work hard. Until you diet down after 5+ years of hard work, you don't realize how little real muscle you have built. Its tough but wort it.

I will be extremely happy if after 12 years, I have put on 60lbs of real muscle. I will be 215 lbs shredded (hard to imagine)! There are no (natural) short cuts.

The muscle may come slow later down the line, but the first 3-6 months of training will yield dramatic results, especially if you have already lifted at any point in your life. I weigh approximately 200 pounds right now at 15% bf (30 pounds). When I started lifting less than a year ago I was 165 with maybe 12% bf (19.8 pounds). So, I have put on like 25 pounds of muscle in less than a year. The last 5 pounds have come a lot slower though. The first 20 pounds took maybe 4-5 months.

I'm a lean (but not ripped) 191 lbs the now, been training 18 year but only strength training 7 year, due to other sports it's a mix of cardio and weight training i do the now.

Not sure about bodyfat amount but i increase in weight by about 4-8lbs over 6 month.

Only supplement i use is a protein powder, probably would use other supplements if had the chance but get drug tested, i follow a strict diet and training routine and drink a lot of water.

Reason i was asking is a guy at the local gym claims in 3-6 month he can easily gain 10-12lbs of lean muscle naturally, wasn't sure if this sounded normal, he been training longer than me.

10-12 pounds of lean muscle is a stretch even for chemically enhanced guy`s.Tell your friend that an increase in bodyweight doesn`t always equate to an increase in lean muscle totally. There is a lot of waterweight involved plus fat gain.

20 raw pounds versus 20 pounds of muscle is quite a bit. On me 20 raw pounds is about an inch on my arms, LBM I have no idea. On a shorter guy thats pretty astounding, for many 10-15 pounds is an inch on the arms.

7 Pounds is right on the norm, but whenever starting after taking a while off it could be different. Muscle has memory. I gained around 15 pounds in a year and lost BF% naturally. But thats just a personal experience.

well you have to consider beginers gains, like the right above just said.

in the past 6 months I've added just over 30 lbs of lbm.
and total weight went from about 180 to 216.

im plateued right now... and am scarecly gaining any lean mass at all... (cant wait to start HST when im done cutting)
