    Second Wind?

What is with the second wind phenomena, today i didn't even get a first wind, but with about 10 minutes left in my workout, (with only calves and light cool down on the bike left) i got a great burst of energy, i felt like going back and redoing the half ass squats that i had done earlier in my workout

Did some good music come on? I find I get tired and dragged out, and then a song plays that just gets me pumped, and it makes all the weight seem light as hell.

Take the time to psyche yourself up before you train.Visualize yourself as a machine that will not be stopped in the gym.By the time you get to the gym you should have the mindset that you are going to war, and that you will take no prisoners. The attitude will definately make you or break you in your training efforts. The mind is the most powerful muscle you have. There is no reason to have bad workouts ,it`s just that some will be beter than other`s.Listen to your body, and train accordingly .

Been there. I worked out for like 20 minutes then got worn down (doing a mass building exercise ex:squats). Then started doing some leg extensions and got a boost of energy, probably because of the type of exercise. Something like a leg extension isn't near as hard as a squat.
