close grip bench
I do triceps and chest on the same day. Is it ok to do close grip bench after i do all my chest exercises(which includes a normal barbell bench press?)....i also heard that close grip bench is great for tris but i dont kno how close to keep my hands.

It's all about comfort with most lifts. Just keep your arms to your sides and keep your hands closer than shoulder width. I say about 8 inches for myself. I am 6 feet tall with somewhat broad shoulders.

I always do close grip after benching, if you do it the next day then you didn't give your tris enough rest bc flat and incline bench both work the tris very good. You could almost look at your chest routine as a triceps routine and it makes sense to include close grip (IMHO the best tricep mass builder).
I usually then do skull crushers and pushdowns, with shoulder work in the mix somewhere. |
