Lange is reputed to be the acme of perfection. They're also the acme of cost. Which means that I have no personal experience with 'em, nor am I ever likely to.

I ended up with an electronic Accumeasure. Reasonable cost, good reviews, and you can -- sort of -- take measurements yourself.

If you need absolute measures, you're probably best to go to someone (experienced) and get properly tested, whatever. If you're just seeking comparative measures of progress, and don't care whether you're "really" at 7% or 9% at a given moment, then any halfway decent brand should do.
