    Hand pains

    Hey guys,

I'm having issues with the palm of my right hand. All around the thumb and in the very centre of my palm is in a lot of pain, and has been increasing in pain over the last few weeks. It doesn't hurt when I'm lifting, or typing or anything, but it aches all day when I'm not using it. I iced it for a while, but it didn't help.

My suspicion was that I increased the weight too quickly on one of the exercises I do (don't know the name of it, but it's the once similar to bicep curls except your palms face down)...

Anyway, has anyone had anything similar, or know any possible reasons for it?

Does it feel like a muscle or joint related pain? I have extensive experience with hand pain (I struggle with it constantly) and the first thing you need to do is guage the severity of the injury. If you feel this is serious seek professional help; the sooner the better. If you decide to treat it yourself then I would first recommend rest. Then you should incorporate grip, wrist, and forearm exercises into your weekly routine. Which can all be found here
Hopefully its nothing serious unfortunately for myself I've developed chronic tendonitis and now I just train with the pain. Good Luck!

I think it's muscle related pain, because I don't feel it in the joints. I think I'm going to see my doctor about it.

What's weird about it is that it doesn't hurt when I'm training or typing or anything that I thought would aggravate it, it just hurts every other moment of the day. heh...

Thanks for the link, too, I'll be sure to check that out.
