    cardio

i read that the best ratio for the heart beat to burn fat doing cardio, is at 65% of ur maximium. i calculated and it came out to 124 bpm. i tried that and i didnt even brake a sweat? is this really the best fat burning zone?
is it any good to do cardio first thing in the morning or is it just a myth?

    220 - your age = 100%

65% of that number is a good RECOVERY range. You should do recovery routines about every two or three weeks just to give your body a break and keep the blood flowing. The recovery range is NOT the optimum fat burning range, that lies in the 75-85% range (endurance). Above 85% is considered the strength range and does not burn any more fat than the endurance range.

No, this is not a myth. By doing your cardio when you first wake up (before eating) you will use your body's stored fuel source (fat) as fuel vs. doing your cardio at night and only burning the big steak dinner you just ate.

I believe HIIT cardio is best, not traditional cardio.

as far as the morning cardio on an empty stomach, I am still unsure/undecided.

It can be debated both ways. I was doing my HITT first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and did not notice any difference bewtween that and doing it in the afternoon.

is ther any truth to after doing cardio on an empty stomach first thing in the morning, wait an hour to eat, it burns even more fat in that hour?

I agree, there are argumnets for both situations. I do however, feel that when I perform my cardio in the morning on an empty stomach that it leans me out faster and my cardi session is that much more effective.

I think "cardio" has to be longer than 3 minutes to be effective!
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain...
