    Question Muscle depth?

I'm not sure if muscle depth is the term I'm thinking of but my question is basically this; how do I increase the thickness of a muscle? I have thin looking muscles as opposed to some of my friends whose muscle mass looks very deep and thick.

Muscle depth simply means having bigger, thicker muscles. A complicated question...but start by training heavy with mostly compound lifts...squats, deads, benches, militaries, etc....train in the 4-8 rep range...don't overtrain...eat big to get big!

Adding size is going to add depth/thickness.

However, the shape of your muscle is genetically determined as Slim Jim said, and this cannot be altered. A good exapmle is a peaked bicep like Arnold's, that is/was all genetics.

ok thanks guys. I had heard that squeezing the muscle at the peak of a lift will add thickness, but I guess that was bull.

    Damn, my genetically inferior parents!

There are many great training techniques...squeezing at the peak contraction is just one of many. All will contribute to your overall size over time. Muscle thickness takes time and good, hard, heavy, consistent lifting and eating!

Hey W8's biatch... oops I mean mmafiter. With as much cardio that the two of you do.. and I know you have a hard time keeping up with her and Jason.. he he sorry had to... what you really need to do is start increasing those calories!!! And of course hit the weights hard and heavy. One thing to keep in mind is that getting bigger is "not" going to slow you down in the ring, not as long you keep with your current training.
