Bulking & Building Mass: The Same?
I often here the terms "bulking" and "building mass."
Is there a difference between the two? If so, what is the difference and what rep. range and workout can work towards getting these. It seems that bulking requires a lower rep range/heavier weight, and that the rep. range for building mass is higher. A confuced newbie. |

pretty much the same thing, bulking is often regarded as gaining extra weight, primarily fat.

The training doesn't have to change between the two, bulking is the process of gaining weight by eating in caloric excess for the purpose of gaining mass, some of which will unfortunately be fat.
If you dont want slow results then bulking is really the only way to effectively add mass relatively quickly, when you are totally new to lifting the body can do things on a somewhat quicker basis than you can after a few months of experience are under your belt. |
