    Back Workout Query

Okay, so I've been doing chin-ups and pull-ups every back workout as opposed to pulldowns, but it seems like people recommend throwing pulldowns instead of body weight-based exercises every now and then. What's the consensus on this? I haven't used that machine in pretty much a year, but then again, my pull-ups haven't really improved too much, which I actually attribute to me gaining weight every week on a bulk.

    Peace.

I like to do both actually, within the same workout. My back workout usually looks like this :

    Plouffe's Back Workout

6 Sets of Pullups until failure
    ---2 Sets of Wide Grip
    ---2 Sets of Medium Grip
    ---2 Sets of Close Grip

    4 Sets of Wide Pulldowns

    5 Sets of Seated Rows
---2 Sets of Close Grip ( Stirrup )
    ---3 Sets of Wide Grip

5 Sets of Lying Extensions ( Weighted )

    3 Sets of Deadlifts ( Lower Back ) ( Optional )

Note : My Rep Range usual stays between 8 - 12. Which is usually to failure.
