Because he is conditioned better.

Also does your frind weigh as much as you? If he is lighter, and can bench closer to his bodyweight than you, then he can probably do more pushups.

We are the same wieghts, and it also has nothing to do with endurance because my endurance in benching a light amount of wieght is alot better than his. He can also not even bench his Own weight. But he can do a shit load of push ups, I dont get it, do push ups really work the chest?

Let someone else tell you. They do work the chest, I promise.

And he does have better endurance. 1RM is totally different than doing pushups.

well, we make 2 marks on the carpets for where our hands are suppose to be, also we both go all the way down and up, so its pretty much the same form.

it hits chest shoulders triceps and lats... if his hands are closer together during pushups he'll be hitting the shoulders and triceps more then if they were farther away... and the same with benching, maybe when he benches he puts his hands out wider to his chest more...

thus his shoulders and triceps are naturally strong, but not his chest
