    Question sprinting/running/agility, etc. routine

i know this forum is primarily based on body building (ie. lifting weights) but i was jsut wondering if anyone here can give me some tips or suggestions on making a good sprining routine. i'm preparing for this upcoming football season, i play running back and i want to be FAST as hell. i'm pretty small, so i have to rely on my speed.

i also want to incorporate some basic plyometrics into my weekly routine.
    thanks in advance

I tell you what, if your coach does not take the time for training in the off season of his player I would transfer to another school. Not to mantion how soft that football team must be without any training in the off season. Sorry man but if thats the case your school need new coach.

unfortunatly thats how things are done around here...i live in Canada, i'm in high school, and football jsut isn't that major here, so the football program at school is shit. its not like in the US where high school teams have their own like stadiums to play in. and we are not soft....well at least we weren't soft the last couple of years...3 years ago are defence didn't allow a single point all season, except for a field goal in the semi-finals. that yuear and the year we got to play at the Skydome in Toronto, which we won both years, making us like one of the top 5 teams in Ontario or something like that....and there was no off season coaching those years.

and telling me that my team is "soft" and that i should transfer really didn't answer my question, now did it?
now, does anyone have anything useful to tell me?

edit: i didn't see the links you sent me, sorry if i sounded "rude" or whatever, those look very helpful.

kata- In Vermont it is strictly forbidden to hold team camps at anytime during the offseason. This is why peeps suck up there.

If you want agility stuff I may be able to help you. Do you have access to a rope ladder?
If sense were common, everyone would have it.

Wow wow cool down dude. You take it too serious, but that’s up to you. I said what I said so what, that’s was my opinion. From what you say about your football team does not impress me at all. If you do not train in the off season you will have a weaker team, so if every football team up there you have played against with does the same as your school I say they are all soft and not playing to their full potential. Too bad if the links don’t work, they do for me.

BTW. I’m not talking training as in going over the plays and so on. You can’t do that here in the off season. I’m talking about weight lifting, running and so on.

Hey man, don't listen to these guys. I play Southern California football and I am going into my senior year. We are big on football like Texas, Ohio, and Florida. Training during the off season to get fast. It can envolve weight lifting too. Squats are crucial for getting 40 time up, and power cleans are a must for exsplosiveness when you need to bust your head through that defensive linemens that your tackle didnt block. more than over all speed you want to be quick on your feet. able to move side to side quickly and accelerate out of that fast! Practice, with tires side to side, and stay loose! Also if you wanna get fast and stay conditioned during the off season, pulling a sled will build power and you can pull logs man if you don't have a sled, or better yet so 40 40 yard sprints, or 16 100's. But on the 100's get them all in under 18 seconds with 30 second break in between each one. Hope this helps!
