I get this as well, I believe it's the traps pressing on the nerves.
when lifting heavy objects in front of me (i've felt this doing a variety of lifts, from front barbell military press to 45lb plate front raise), I get a sharp tingle/pain in my middle/lower traps, and occassionally in my rhombs.
Any idea where this comes from? What it is? How I get rid of it?
The pain isn't unbearable, it just feels funny....almost like an electric shock??? Am I rubbin nerves against bone or muscle?
How can I fix this??? I'm tired of it interupting my lifts.

is it something that just has to be delt with or can it be addressed? I can push through it, but its such an annoyance
No one's going to be able to diagnose you here, RipIt. Your best bet would be to get it checked out by a professional. It could be something minor or the beginning of some larger problem. For example, many rotator cuff injuries "feel" like they're coming from the traps or lats because that's where some of the muscle heads are.

agreed, although you could ask DrChiro he is a chiropractor.Originally posted by stencil
