I work out at the gym
I work out at home
I work out at home and gym
Where do you work out? Home or gym?

I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.
GYM
working out at home doesnt even come close to the intensity of a good gym !

Hey! What's that suppost to mean?![]()
Gym but I would like to workout at home. That would be great.
I've done both and enjoy the intensity of the gym. I currently workout in a local gym.

I have tried home and it doesn't work as well for me, mostly its mental but lack of equipment and banging of plates and stuff as well as the space the equipment takes up... no thanks.
Gym gym gym, no question. If I had 5 grand or so to dump on equipment and a huge huge garage (I work on cars too so this is already looking bad) or a 7 bedroom house, then I would waste the space without feeling badly about it.

At a gym for the past 22 years. I've been to almost every gym in my area during that time. But in about 5 months when the house is done I'll FINALLY have a basement to put some basic equipment in![]()

I workout at home. However, I think in the future I will change to a gym. Currently, I live with my father and he allows my home gym to be setup in the basement. When I move out it will most likely be into an apartment, meaning I can't really have a home gym there. I hate machines anyway; free weight forever. The only ones I really miss are the leg press, hack squat machine, calf machines, and maybe cable/t-bar row machines.

Home. I only ever worked out in one gym that I liked, and it's closed now. Everything else round here is stupidly overcrowded chain gyms.
Only thing that sucks about my home gym is overhead clearance -- there is very little. All upward presses must be done seated on the bench, and I have had to curb my longing to try Olympic lifts.
I work out at home. Going to the gym is a hassle, waiting for equipment to free up sucks. Having giant steroid using meat heads throwing equipment around acting like badasses gets tiring. "jo mang, come spot me eh! EEEEEER AAAAAAH GGGGGGGGAAAAAAAH. ONE!" and they rack it.
Working at home its you, the iron, your music, your time and your bench. No laying in some heathens sweat.
Agreed. I prefer standing military presses, but I am unable to do them.Originally Posted by Akateros

Home. I dont suffer with any of the mile long things people have said they hate about their gyms and I have everything I need so long as I get creative. And thats half the fun. I will never return to a gym.

Someday....I will be like you....
Home. i have a bench, curl bar, 2 DB, straight bar on the bench heh, punching bag, skipping rope and stairs lol i dont mind doing my dips in the kitchen, or chin ups with the basement rafters![]()
Have always worked out at a gym. But if I had the space and the money to be able to set up my own gym with all the equipment I need I would definitely give it a go.
The gym is the best place to train at, people and the Instructors
there keep me motivated all the time.
Go Hard or Go Home!
For me, working out is my way of unwinding and finishing off a day. I prefer to workout at night after dinner No. 1. I spend the time between sets reflecting on the day and focusing on my workout. When I travel for my job and work out at a gym, I try and go when it is not busy. I do not like to talk to people when I work out. It is not a socializing thing for me. It is the only time I can really be selfish with my time and focus on being a better person physically and spiritually. I have just started the P/RR/S routine of Gopro. I have all the equipment to do all the exercises for the routine at home in my garage. If I had to travel or go out in the rain/heat I would use it as an excuse to not work out and was very inconsistant. At least when I joined gyms in the past I found excuses for not working out. I have no excuses now and am more consistant in my workouts. If I need a spot I can get my son to spot me. But that is pretty rare. I also can get my PWO drink in about 3 min. from my last set for that much discussed insulin spike

Golds here is overcrowded due to the name, its just like 24 Hour Fitless. A pickup joint with a name that people recognize.

Anyone been to both world gym and golds gym? They look very similar, I think the golds in my area has longer hours, but World gym looks like it would be less crowded. Im looking to join one, so far Im leaning twards golds. Heck, If I go with world, Ill still take that 7 day trial membership to golds. That way after I make an ass of myself learning the equipment, I can start fresh with people who dont know me.![]()
I'd prefer to workout at a gym, I just tend to do an all around more intense workout there. But usually I find myself working out at home just due to convienence.
Definitely the gym. I gotta get outta the house! Occasionally I do cardio at home.

I work out at home... and my friend's house. I got the weight training stuff, he's got the cardio stuff.
Just more convenient, and it saves me cash.
With a little patience in finding the best multiple purpose pieces of equipment i've now been able to get gym intensity while saving time. Wouldn't mind a gym occasionally if the right one, but now it's not essential.
