is German Volume Training that good?

GVT is presented as if it were the ultimate muscle building routine.

Is it?

I have tried it in the past, I personally did not care for the excessive volume. I mean 100 reps on a single exercise can really get extreme IMO. Just my personal experience.

Think about that, what routine that is written, has the creator telling you "well its not bad really." Of course they are going to pump it up as some holy grail of lifting.

I've seen twists on the program here and there, there are many ways to skin a cat but not all of them optimal for long term use. Almost anything is worth experimenting with though IMO.

GVT would never qualify as a year round program for me, 100 reps? Yeah my joints would really appreciate that kind of abuse.

I have used GVT several time with good results but only if I am bulking. Tried it once cutting and it didn't work out. If your wanting to add mass, and willing to follow the routine exactly, it will add mass.
