Help with building my neck

Yesterday I was shopping for clothes, and I went into a changing room with mirrors covering 2/3 of the wall, and I just happened to glance at one of the side mirrors, and I realised how thin my neck was, it made my head look really big. When I got home I measured my neck and it was 13 1/2 inches. which I think is really puny. So I wanna know how is best to add a couple of inches all round my neck? Will building up my traps also help, I do shrugs and dumbell raises for my traps, and they are just beginning to get a little bigger.

I especially need help with the back of my neck.

Thanx.

what is your height and weight ?

Personally I don't believe in using weights to stimulate neck growth. As your upper body increases in weight the circumference of your neck will increase as well...

for your height and weight your neck measurement seems right.

a basic guideline for symmetry is that your calves, upper arms and neck should roughly be the same size. are yours ?

Yep sounds right to me. I had about 13.5" arms @ 150ish when I was in high school.

Right now my neck is 18.5" and 19.0" arms (right arm anyway). If I dont work my neck though it remains smallish, dipping into the 17 something range.

The only guys I can think of with bigger necks than arms, are overweight men.

Even though your neck seems to be about the right size, here is a link to a couple of decent neck exercises:
