    Back and front definition..

i've been doing about 500 crunches- of various styles for a while now, and I've gotten some definition and definitely more mass in my abs, but I can't seem to lose that little hula-hoop of fat.....
I'm A very srict vegetarian(I mostly eat fruits and veggies, occasionally nuts, carbs usually in the morning, I try to eat dinner early, I only drink organic 1% or 2% milk and organic cheese a few times a week. As you can see- very little fat. not a lot of sugars- except for the fruits and juices I drink....
I work out on average five days a week, about 1 hour intensively and another hour not so intensively, per day.

What can I possibly do to define my stomach/back more?
It's been like two years of this routine.... and when I feel I reach a plateau, I push harder....

    Help!

Try adjusting your diet. That's the best way to achieve better definition. And 500 crunches!?Try doing sets of 20 reps or less(with weight if need be).The abs are a muscle like the lats or quads.Train them in a similair fashion.

    ooookkkkkayyyyyyy

twenty crunches doesn't feel like I'm doing anything.
i do regular crunches(200), side to side crunches(100), raised leg crunches(100), leg/head lifts(100). I feel like I could easily do more- I've always been like that. Pushups is a different story- I have yet to break the 100 mark.
I think I lost some weight/gained definition yesterday- 2hours, almost non stop at our dojo.

I don't know how else to adjust my diet.... I could start swallowing air for breakfast, I guess.

Just to get one thing clear, crunches have nothing to do with definition. It's all diet.

As far as losing that extra fat, how is your protein intake?

    Protein intake.....

Fine. I don't neglect something as serious as that.
The only thing I can think of is my carbohydrate intake.
Could that effect my weight much?
I try to keep my carb. intake(breads, pasta, etc.) low after breakfast..... but I will admit I'm not ALWAYS successful(Pizza, pasta, Lasagne, etc.).

Ok, cleaning up your diet has been sad. As for the crunches, if you do them weighted with a 5 second count each way, a set of 20 willl feel like a bitch, especially if you hold the peak for 5 seconds also

If nothing else...drop the fruit and fruit juices, increase your protein, and watch the fat melt off.
