Hi everyone...I'm new to this website and had a question that some of you might be able to help me with....I've never had a problem with being overweight or not having muscle...I guess I'm lucky...but I haven't been too active lately, or as active as I used to be, and I've noticed that my muscle has started to turn to fat, mainly just on my stomach..I still have ab muscle but it's under a layer of fat now.My question is, I'm still thin and I don't want to lose weight everywhere because then I would look too thin, but I need to lose the layer of fat on my stomach. If I do cardio will I lose weight everywhere or will the stomach fat be the first to go? Also what would be the best cardio? I want to tone my butt a little as well...would an elliptical be good for that too? That might sound like a dumb question to some of you but I just don't wanna lose weight in areas that I want the fat...like my chest and butt
. Any replys would be appreciated...sorry for writing a novel!
Thanx, Sara![]()

Muscle does not turn to fat, however calories used to maintain that muscle which is in your normal diet are now not being used for that purpose and therefore go to fat stores.
Drop 300-500 calories from your diet, or just keep working out since you believe thats all it takes for your body. As you get older your metabolism also may shift.
