Spotting Technique Video
The other day while surfing I came across a site that had some videos on spotting techniques. There were samples only I believe and you could buy the actual thing. I started working out with a buddy a couple of month ago because I no longer felt safe increasing my weights on the decline bench. Having the spotter allowed me to up the weights from 285 to 315, so it paid off. I was stuck at 285. I find that some things work better than others. From my partner, I've learnt a few spotting tricks. But there are probably things neither one of us know. Any idea on where I might find those videos, or some other material on how to effectively spot and different styles of spotting?

i always thought spotting was pretty straight forward, you just need some experience to know how much to give, when to give it etc. Although this one dude showed me a pretty cool to spot a squat...when you see the person getting stuck, just squeeze his obliques together with your palm facing down using the inside of your hand (thumb and index finger should go around the person, and squeeze). I wouldn't really suggest you spot someone like that when they are maxing or anything (in that case you gotta be squatting with him so to speak), but if your buddy it stuggling and you wanna give him a little help to get through the sticking point it helps.
