Snatch you are pulling form a hang position (like a hang cleah)

Power snatch you are pulling from the floor (like a power clean)

I’m not big on the snatch, but I do power clean and hang clean twice a week. One day of the week I do power clean the other hang clean. Most of the time is just 5 x 4 heavy weight; I do some times go in the 8-10 reps range to change things up a bit. I like power cleaning more than I do hang clean and snatch (I haven’t done snatch in some time) . But they are definitely great exercised to work on your explosion.

Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.

make sure your form is clean as hell!! Start with just working on explosive shrugs from the hang position with a clean grip and a snatch grip (hook grip and all). Make sure you get the shrug and pop your hips forward and pull the bar into you. Start learning how to clean before you snatch. Work on front squating form the rack position as this will help increase your strenght and flexibility in your wrists. After you can shrug from the hang position go to the floor and work the same movement. Pick one explosive lift to do each day (ie mon- clen, tues- snatch, fri- combination day (ie clean and push jerk....or snatch and overhead squat etc..)).

Yeah, P, thats gonna be the hard part... ive been downloading a shitload of videos of people doing the lifts, trying to get an idea of what im supposed to be doing. Unfortunately no one in my gym does OL's, so im gonna have to teach myself. Hopefully i dont die.

Yeah, be careful, you can really hurt yourself.

How about a field trip to NYC to do some Olympic lifting with my training partner and I?

we train total body three times a week so everyday is leg day....LOL.

Olympic lifts are leg exercises!! All the power is generated through your hips, your upper body is just catching adn recieving the bar.

I know LAM, but for people that play football and are shot put and discus throwers are essential.
