Actually, I think I like dumbell ones best.

i used to use dumbells all the time too... but the dumbells at the gym in my town are ghetto... the ends are loose. My friend got smoked with a half a 25lb dumbell doing them . I can't wait till i go back down south for school

I love both.

Most of the time I will use the 45lb bar to do my flat bench skull crushers.

But if I'm doing incline or decline skull crushers, I will usually use the E-Z bar & sometimes even dumbbells as you can open them up just as if you were doing rope push downs.

You've never done or heard of incline or decline skull crushers?

It's pretty simple. For incline skull crushers you use the E-Z bar or dumbbells in each hand, & you use an incline adjustable bench. Instead of doing them on a flat bench, you use an incline bench & do your skull crushers on that bench. I'm doing right now incline close grip bench press for triceps & it's great.

For decline bench it's the same, except you use a decline bench.

Doing different angled tricep presses & extensions will hit your triceps from different angles building a much fuller tricep.

I use db's because I find it less pressure on my wrist. Also, I feel it helps my grip too.

I like to use DB's for skullcrushers also. Much less strain on the elbows and wrists.

I use dumbbells, straight bar, and the ez bar.
I also do incline, decline, and flat. and change the position of my elbows; first sets ill go to my forehead, then back of my head then behind my head.

The EZ is much easier on the wrists than the straight bar. DBs are also easy but don't work well for the skullcrusher variation that I do.

I do all 3, 45lb bar, e-bar & db's as with db's you can open up just as with rope pushdowns.

P-Funk

Yeah I did, but I was just trying to stress the fact that all 3 are good & important to do all 3, flats, inclines & decline skull crusher. That's all.

They reall build up my triceps a lot doing all 3 variations.

I have never tried duing them with dumbbell, always done with the EZ bar or straight bar. The straight bar feels better for me though.

why on earth would you do them in different angles? it's not like bench, skullcrusher is just arm extension, no matter what angle it is you're still just doing the same thing.

johnny how do I do decline chest raises

I know what you mean, I never used to use the straight bar before but I started getting used to it.

But if the EZ Bar feels better on your wrists, you should try db's for extensions, they're stress free on the wrists & as I've said before you can twist them outwards as if you were doing rope pushdowns.

I like the straight bar to, but for a change in routine I use dumbbells whether flat, incline or decline extensions.

You say decline chest raises? What are decline chest raises? I'm talking about doing tricep skull crusher extensions on an incline or decline angle.

Like I said you would do it b/c it's a different angle & you are hitting the tricep on a different angle developing it from a different angle.

I already knew about these variations a long time ago, but here are some examples:
Here's one for decline dumbbell extensions:
http://www.abcbodybuilding.com/exerc...extensions.htm

& here is one for incline tricep extensions:
http://www.abcbodybuilding.com/exerc...extensions.htm

But you need the free flash player 6 to play the little movie clip.
