Post training at home

i always wanted to know how efficient training at home is with push-ups ,sit-ups and all the other exercises and without using weights.
i also wanted to know if u can play like this together with weights, and does it help if u start out like this then carry on in a gym?

Well, at home w/o weights, you can train your chest by doing (push ups), triceps by doing dips or Diamond push ups, your abs, your legs (Squats w/o weights), etc. For me I started to train at home with a single dumbbell first, until I eventually get hook to the gym. It's better to train there anyway, more equipments, and you can get help or guidance if needed.

I don't have a great body, but as long as I work hard like now, I'm gonna reach there.

The effectiveness of training at home depends on not only the equipment you have available but also you! Some people can not train at home for lack of motivation. I do go to the gym but I've also built a gym in my home for various reasons. However, if you are just starting to get into workout out then training at home might not be a good thing if you don't have the self discipline.

Also doing those types of exercises before you hit the gym can be a nice warm up and if you don't overdue them then it shouldn't bother you when you do in fact get to the gym!

If you build it they will come

Hey witchy,

I train at home and I love it. 1st - I don't have to wait for any machinery, 2nd - No monthly fees, 3rd - I get to listen to the music I like. Sure there are a few limitations with the amount of exercises you can do but with a little innovation you'd be surprised with what you can do with a simple $100 gym and dumbbells purchased at wal-mart.

The only thing I don't work out at home is legs. I go to the gym for legs day.

Working out at home is great, but if your goals are to put on some muscle, you'll need to either get some weights or join a gym.

Push ups and Situps will only take you so far.

I have a fully equipped gym at home, smith machine, lat pulldown, etc., and I still use other gyms. I usually train at home once per week.

If you can only do push-ups at home, like Scotty, said you are not going to put on much muscle. I don't think it's necessary to start out that way. If you're going to, you should at least buy one of those plastic weight sets.

I have never belonged to a gym.My equipment is an incline/decline bench and some dumbbells, this has produced some great results for me.There are more than enough exercises you can do at home with just that little bit of equipment.

Working out at home is fine, just don't drop a #45 plate on a wood floor. Land lords tend to frown on that... *oops*

lol

i am starting a small home gym, and i figure i can do most of the excerices as long as i purchase the right equipment, which i am working on now.

i prefer to do thing in teh privacy of my own home, no waiting, or adjusting cause of someone elses needs, i set it all up to suit myself! less hassles! and definetly my own music is a plus! but no hot women in tights to look at ..lol

I used to like training at home. But after I started lifting at my school gym I like it much better there. I just push myself harder, now my home gym which just consists of a bench and 205lbs is rusting up.

i have enough in my "home gym" for upperbody as well adjustable bench with a barbell and 255 pounds of weight and some adjustable dumbells.... but i always have to improvise for legs.... my legs are getting behind so eventually im gonna have to buy a squat rack and/or smith machine to work them harder.....
