Back and Tri because Back also hits Bi's in a compound movement and vice versa which we don't want to overtrain, now do we?

I mean... you probably wouldn't... but after you overtrain you'll understand the phobia.

I don't train hard, eat right, and do the things I do for others. I do it for myself.

I am usually too spent after back to hit either with any intensity...if I finish my back with any energy to spare I did not hit my back hard enough.

So SportinStyle i am guessin you hit back and tri's on the same day ... so do you workout both the muscles simultaneously or do one whole exercise for back (3-4 sets) and then one whole exercise for tris (3 - 4 sets) and then back again .....?

Kinda except I do Back (3 exercises x 3 sets) then Tris (3 exercises x 3 sets).

BUT if you did do Back/Bi's same day I would do it like you were saying, Back, Bi, Back, Bi so you even your payload and don't spend all your energy on the first one.

Agreed. I give my back it's own day currently, with a couple of sets for traps thrown in about 2/3 of the time.

I train my back on my squat and/or deadlift days. But then, I train for lifts, not for parts.

back/bi's same day. Bi's are indirectly hit during a back workout, so it takes few sets to finish training them. I see alot of people OVER trainging their biceps or arms..

SportinStyle-you do equal sets for back and tri's? I do 10-12 sets for back and 7 sets for tri's but on different days.

I prefere back/traps/neck as LAM said b/c my traps get warmed up while I do back and I just have to throw a few sets to finish my traps off.

I have experienced both ways and both are equaly fine for me. At first I didn't like going from back/tri to back/bi because I had to drop the weights a little for bi's because they where tired. But after while I adjusted just fine. I find by alternating them every so often I would get better results with arm development.

Also if you spread you back/tri day out with when you do your bi's (probably mixed with chest) you may find great reults doing back and tri b/c you would be hitting them twice a week so to speak. Just lower the sets you do for them and you should be fine. I use to get great results this way then every few weeks switch it up so they get a rest.

Which is why many people do low volume biceps on the same day. If you are training your biceps seperately then you are training them twice a week essentially.

My program right now is pretty goofy looking, but I have been having a seperate arm day on my normal routine.

The only reason why I would do tri's and back on the same day is because I believe that these two are both push exercises....I could be oh, so wrong, but that's why I voted...

Back is a pull lift, chest is a push.
Tri's are a push, bi's are a pull.

IMO - I think its better to do Back and Bi's the same day....Your Bi's are indirectly worked while doing Back lifts....Makes sense to do it this way.....

i do both, but currently i am doing back with tri's, i am not doing a whole lot of volume with my arm workouts currently to make up for the fact that i am essentially working them out twice a week, maybe 6-8 sets
i do traps on my shoulders day

I usually work back/bis and chest/tris, so I dont have to do much work on them.

Neither after I hit Back I'm too tried I only work one muslce a day. Expect Tuesdays I hit legs all togeter. If you hit one Muscle a day very intense for 50 mins thats all you need.(Aslo sportinsyle with low set numbers like you posted you won't overtrain It's when you try to do 20 sets is when you start overtraing unless you work an large muslce twice a week you won't overtrain. Just helping, trying to get you to do pull and push seperate. So you won't overtrain your tri's.

For an workout? You can't workout 2 hours after an HR you run out of test and you stop feeding the muscle with nutrition threw blood flow, and after that Hr you start to recruit muscle fibers thats very bad. That goes against everything you just worked for.

Care to cite any legit sources that have proven you'll run out of test after one hour?

Better yet, how the hell does this apply to women?

Fire your trainer. He's an idiot and he's taking you to the bank. Lactic acid buildup means jack shit. And your trainer told you there's a one hour limit on test? I mean, where the fuck did this guy get his cert from? The proverbial Cracker Jack's box?

Seriously, this guy doesn't know shit.
