Best Cardio for cutting

Hey Guys/Gals,

I'm curious; i've had some people tell me that if you are looking to burn fat, the best cardio is to just walk for a good amount of time, others tell me it's best to run.

Does it make a difference? Walking, Running, Cycling, etc, which would help me reduce my bf% the most efficiently?

Thanks!!

Brad.

If this has already been covered somewhere, and you have a link, please post. I did a search but couldn't come up with much.

Brad,
Just found an answer to this question myself. You're getting about the same responses that I received. Check this site out, I'll bet it'll help you too. HIIT training: http://www.musclemedia.com/training/hiit_table.asp
Good luck!

Adrien, just the nature of the beast(s) on this forum.

You can be so nice to people, but then they take advantage of you.
I don't blame people for getting mad about being asked about the same questions everyday. Do a simple search.

I suppose you are right . It's too bad teasing those that have belonged to this forum for ages is different than teasing newbies who are looking for help. Key word: HELP

Adrien, I hear you. If you need any questions answered, I'll try my best to get you the information you need. I've noticed a lot of the individuals that have thousands of posts are the ones acting up. However, I've only seen a handful on this site. There are people like that on EVERY fitness forum. Just rise above, and try to reach your own goals.

Well I don't mind being asked the same questions... I've been running forums for years and get it everyday.

I think diet is more important then cardio. Cut your calories down to under what you use in a day, but keep up your Omega 3's, Vitamins, and Protein. This way you lose fat but maintain muscle.

As for cardio, I suggest doing HIIT or sprints, that's what I would do to lose fat quick. Swimming is ok, but it breaks down back and shoulder muscle so your body can be more agile and the same for boxing, but I usually do them because they are a lot more fun and you don't get bored, but still burn fat.

Depends what you want.

Happy Hunting Brother!

I don't train hard, eat right, and do the things I do for others. I do it for myself.

....did I mention the ladies too???

yes, obviously diet is important. but to answer the question - running is and always will be to best cardio workout, not just because it burns so many cals but also because studies have shown that it somehow naturally suppresses the apetite. running also has mental effects on many people. i have heard numerous stories of people who quit smoking after taking up running or got over alcoholism simply because the body is doing two things that are so conflicting that one has to win. its also a great way to discipline yourself mentally which is the hardest part of running. Do YOU want to run?? exactly

Best vitamin I have ever used. It's made from real food (veggies, fruits) and not synthetic (made in a lab) like most vitamins. Check it out at www.dontforgettotakeyourvitamins.com/safty4884

First off, pay more attention to your diet than anything. Diet is the key to losing fat while maintaing muscle, period. Check out the stickies in the diet & nutrition forum, and post your diet there.

Walking is obviously not as effective as jogging or running. 30 minutes of jogging burns more calories than 30 minutes of walking. Walking is great, but it is certainly not the best way to cut the fat. To put it simply, you are doing more work per unit of time when jogging as opposed to walking.

Weight training is more effective at decreasing body fat levels than any cardio. If you really want to lose fat, then weight training should be priority over cardio.

The only time it's bad to feel the burn is when you're peeing...

For what I've been reading here and in other books and websites lately, HIIT is a very good way of doing that, of course along with a good diet...Good luck..

Maybe just a tad. I had the same problem when I first posted. Zero response. Then I did as suggested above, searched - big time. The whole site was a bit overwhelming. Now, I have my routine chosen and am knocking them off. Oh yeah, people HAVE been very helpful for me. Thanks all.
