It depends how bad the osteo is. She should check with her doctor, see if she can get a referral to a specialist. Weight-bearing exercise is certainly good and can help build bone strength, but the trouble is, if the disease has progressed, she may be at risk of doing more damage -- even breaking a bone -- by incautious weight-lifting.

Whatever you do, find out first how bad the situation is, and any areas (eg hips, back, etc.) where it might be particularly severe.

At the moment, walking on a treadmill (light, weight-bearing exercise) is a good start, in my opinion.

You're going to have to ask her doc what limitations she has regarding exercise. I would suggest very light weight with any weight training(and she should lift weights).

Did you mean Actimol? This has the same side effects as acetaminophen. Hard on kidney and liver, may affect blood system and cause anemia.

As said check with the doc. After that if she is cleared to lift stick with closed chain exercises (no leg ext. for example) as they put a great demand on the body and illict a much greater muscluar response.
