Bench Max ??
BODYBUILDING SUPPLEMENTS High Quality Supplements For Bodybuilders and Athletes. www.ironmaglabs.com I am a little worried.
My training partner just called and said his wife's aunt has passed away. He will be out of town this week. We had plans to max out on bench tomm. We are both stopping our M1T cycle tomm. I know a lot of pushing past barriers is in your mind, and we are both great for pushing each other past those. I have 2 options- 1- lift in my gym and get another spotter I don not know 2- lift with another buddy from work in his gym (will be a new place) Any advice?? I do not mean to sound funny about this, but I have been looking forward to pushing through that 300 pound barrier for so long. |

Lift in your gym and get another spotter. Lifting in another gym may be distracting for you as the change of environment may make you uncomfortable, or it may make you stronger, it is a toss up (contextual interference is a bitch like that). If you are maxing out make it clear to the new spotter what you want. If I have someone spotting when my trainingn partners aren't their I just tell them....look, I need you to stand here and stay close, DO NOT TOUCH THE BAR UNLESS IT STARTS COMING BACK DOWN ON ME!!

Worst case, use one of the calculators in my sig and go for a tripple or something. Its not the same ego boost, but just a thought, still nice to have a spotter though no doubt.

Guess what I hit 300 today!
I almost blew up 315! Just couldn't lock it out. I believe it was about half way up! My current max was 285 just three Monday's ago! This is how I worked up to my max- 2x 10 bar 2x 10 135 1x 5 185 1x 3 225 1x 1 275 1x 1 300 1x 1 315<MISS> 1x 11 225<burn out> Any one think I should have done it different? |

I came half way up and thats a little short of what I'd call almost blew it up
If you are 2/3 of the way up or so and need lockout strength then triceps are the answer.15 pounds is a HUGE HUGE difference when estimating a max and then going for another, unless you are snorting amonia caps or something. Some people even do warmups with quarters on the bar, but I like that you are doing the bar as well. Tiny Meeker does the same thing, so I started warming up with the bar as well. |

Going to do some lockouts on tri day. Really hit them heavy and hard for the next months ahead.
