    pull downs

Can anyone suggest what exercises I can do instead of Lat pull downs. I work out at home and can not do lat pull downs. It seems like this is the core exercise for lat development. Can anyone suggest some exercises I can do with dummbell-barbell that are just as effective. Thanks

If you can, do pullups. I like them for lat development.

I have a nice pullup bar setup, but I can't use it really any longer due to the door frames here. I can link you if you'd like to check it out, I believe it ran me about $40, not a cheap setup at all, very sturdy.

I used to do pull ups on the truss's in my garage. Try doing them on all types of things. Believe it or not...changing up the "bar" can really change the dynamic of the muscles involved.
But to answer your question. Wide Grip Pull-ups. I am a pretty thick wasted guy and my favorite "ab" exercise is actually the wide grip pull up!
