I assume you have tried leaning back on the heels a bit more? I would use really light weights and get my form down before going heavy with these. Be careful, if your form isn't good and you drop a couple hundred pounds on your achilles, not cool.
When I do hack squats the bar tends to rub against the back of my heels (on the way down), What am I doing wrong?
I do hack squats as I do not have the apparatus for natural squats.
