I have decided to add a smith machine to my house gym. Can someone recommend one (brand) that is durable?

Thats funny I just placed an order with them yesterday for another bench and dumbbells. The shop cart didn't work on their website so I had to call and leave a message. The guy called back within an hour. Good service. All my other equipment like plates, benches, bars etc... I have ordered from BIG FITNESS they only charge delivery on dumbells but the guy at fitness resource said no charge for dumbells (well not alot of them anyway) Thanks Prince I am going to have a look again.
OK I looked.
That is a good deal Prince. Question does it have safe locks at the bottom that are adjustable?
DAH I just saw it has 21 lock out positions.

Yes, it does. It's pretty decent for the price. I like it.Originally posted by Chick

If you want a better one, look at this --> http://www.fitnessfactory.com/Fitnes...ction&linkid=4
OK I looked at that too. What in your opinion is the big diff. Linear bushing? Prince does your model slide smoothly enough in your opinion? That is what I want. If you say yours is sufficient then I will order your model. Beside all the types of lifting you can do with a smith I love doing inverted leg presses with it. No solid plate there for it but I make do.

New 7pm I have decided to buy these but I need the answer to the smoothness.
SMITH MACHINE It's on sale for $350
THIS because I need another one and
THIS FOR THE SMITH
Do these look good? One more question there are 2 hyperextention benches, I want one. These both look the same but are different prices can anyone tell me what the difference is?
HYP 1
and
HYP 2

My model works fine, however, if I was going to buy it today knowing what I know I would probably spend more money and go with the higher model.
My model is smooth, but it would be nice if it were "smoother".
I did not get the weight tree that goes on the smith machine, but it would make the machine more stable. I have four 25lb standard plates (2 on each side) on the front for stability. That's what those pegs are for that you can see in the pic, so make sure you order some plates for them.
I bought the same v-bar, it's good.
HYP1 looks better.![]()
I looked at the smith machine when I was setting up my home gym,but decided to go with a good power rack. I also picked up the optional cable system that came with it and I`m happy with the whole set up.
does any body wanna buy my 400lb tractor tire i use to train with, only $4.00 bucks but you gotta pay for the shipping![]()

So, what equipment did you end up buying?
All the ones I posted...I'm looking forward to their arrival. Not having that smith now is a good reason to wait to do legs..woe
Now the dilemma...arranging things. I wanted everything I have to be in the 2 rooms I use for working out but the treadmill has to go in the livingroom to make room for a bench or 2. It's big enough 30x22 and I have a 53 inch sony so I can watch the Beverly Hillbillies...LOL but really. So I won't get bored on it and I can see the tv real well but I really hate putting it there. Hell I don't have company anyway.
Is that smith easy/med or hard to put together?
PS everyone here is awesome helping me and I appreciate it. I am getting so motivated. Thank you.
I use to have my tread mill in front of the TV but found it to much of a distraction so now it faces a wall and has two 100 watt speakers in front of it.
If I turn up the music loud enough, I don't need a fan.![]()
"EAT ME"!!

All of the Body Solid equipment is fairly easy to assemble, the lat pull down was a bit tricky though.Originally posted by Chick

One thing with that Smith machine is there are these little black plastic tabs that have to be pushed into the "guiders" that is connected to the bar. Don't forget to put them in! There are 16 of them (8 for each side), and they are not easy to push in.
I have around 7 pieces of Body Solid equipment, and it's all good!
haha slim jim.... what u listen to when u run??
No Pain, No Gain
YES everything arrived yesterday on wednesday. Now for the dirty deeds of putting the smith and hyper bench together. Any volunteers? What no takers....
This sucks.
i'll be right there sweetie!!!!!!![]()

I've got a tank, oh goodie.![]()
Smith is rocking now. I love it. It's exactly where I want it and the back is against the wall and will be bolted to the floor tomorrow. I'm so excited over it I think I'll take a digital picture and post it. I decided not to put the weight tree on for now. Thank you Tank![]()

Glad to hear it!
I would think twice about bolting any equipment to the floor though, just my opinion.
Well I have thought about bolting it and since it would make it more stable and it can always be unbolted??? Big ass bolts and long tho.....

You can buy a pair of sleeves to convert it into olympic size ends. Fitness Factory sells them.![]()
Great I will get the sleeves tho the plates are going no where. I won't be putting 8...45's on there unless it was a sled..![]()
I have figured that I can nicely fit the Pro Club-Line™ Cable Crossover Machine with the stacks. The $1895 is good right?
Nice Looking

Sure, but if it were me I would buy other things first before that. Such as a leg press. I was looking at the plated loaded cable cross over, but I really do not have the room for it.Originally posted by Chick
