    Bent Rows - correct form

    When doing bent rows, are you supposed to bring the bar up to you belly button or to your chest?

    Position your feet at about shoulder width. Bend over so your back is as close to parallel to the floor as you can and hold bar with an overhand grip and with hands a little wider than shoulder width. Keep legs slightly bent. Hold bar at arm's length straight down. Pull bar straight up to the lower part of your chest. Slowly lower bar back to starting position. Keep your head up and back straight at all times, and do NOT swing or use momentum to lift the weight!

    i heard...

    a guy at the gym, once pointed out to me giving me some tips to pull up the bar with a underhand grip, like doing a curl..is this wrong?

    you can use under or overhand, which ever you can get the best ROM with working loads...
    I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

    when i do three sets, i do one set overhand, one set w/ left overhand and right underhand, then vice versa for the third.

    i doubt it makes any measurable difference though
    cutting sucks.

    Dorain used to do some SICK back workoust. start out with like 495+ and do one giant drop-set down to 135 lbs I think, maybe even just the bar...I would puke for sure

    Bring it to your gut, 70º angle and pulling to the nipple would be an upright row just about. Rows are probably my best movement by numbers/bodypart.

    I believe you want to be touching your stomach. Do it where it is comfortable, but going too high starts to bring the rear delts into play a lot.
    The only time it's bad to feel the burn is when you're peeing...

    i keep my knees slightly bent back straight and row the bar towards my upper abdomen, i feel this hits my lats great (better then bringing the bar higher) and it puts a lot less strain on your lower back

    i read this technique in arnies bb encyclopedia so its taken from the legend of bb himself, can't go wrong with that

    I see different forms.

    I see ppl with the form shutup&train described which is supposed to be the correct form.


    Then I see many of the huge pro's almost in an upright position with a slight ark in their back & feet shoulder width apart & a moderate wide grip

    So it's debateable.

    I prefer the other method.
