which is better for fat loss?

Hi, I wanted to get peoples opinion as to what would be better for fatloss and retaining the most muscle, hiit training or slow cardio?

From my limited knowledge a mix of the two, slow and lengthy interspersed with brief HIT may be optimal and mirrors Scandinavian Interval training.
