I’m a beginner to weight training (15 years old, about 5’11” and 220), and my main goal is to add muscle mass and strength; looks will come naturally and are only of secondary importance to me. What do you guys think of the following routine?



Monday:

- 10 min walk to warm up -

5x5 chest presses w/60 lbs - 1 min break -

5x5 military presses w/60 lbs

- 1 min break -

5x5 triceps w/42.5 lbs

- 5 min walk to cool down -



Wednesday:

- 10 min walk to warm up –

5x5 (or more) crunches

- 1 min break -

5x5 curls w/50 lbs

- 1 min break -

5x5 wrist curls w/? lbs

- 5 min walk to cool down -



Friday:

- 10 min walk to warm up -

5x5 squats w/80 lbs

- 1 min break -

5x5 toe raises w/80 lbs

- 5 min walk to cool down -



Note: There will be a period of about 30 seconds between each set and 60 seconds between each exercise (after I adjust the weights).
