    Question Trigger Points

Hi. I'm new to posting here but I have lurked about abit, did some reading here. I really like the amount of knowledge and the feeling of comraderie I have witnessed in this forum.
Anyway, I have a quick question that I am hoping that someone here can assist me with.
I sometimes, after a really serious UB lifting session, develop muscular trigger points in my traps &/or lats. They can be slightly annoying to downright stabbingly debilitating. Has anyone experienced this or have some sort of 'home remedy' to help alleviate this situation. I have tried stretching and hot showers and stretching after hot showers.
And before anyone mentions a massage therapist, I've done my research and can't find anyone in my area that does deep tissue/ myo-fasical release for less than $75 a session.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions/feedback!

You can buy either a self massage unit or a solid foam roller. The massage unti will be more passive and the foam roller harder. Place it against the trigger point and release it by pressing hard on the trigger point while breathing normally and attempting to relax the area.

So for example for your back put the roller against a wall and lean against it, moving until you find the trigger point. I use it for my legs all the time and it really helps.
Today I can do what others will not so that tomorrow I will do what others cannot.

The difference between winners and losers is that winners do things that losers don't want to do.

Thanks Pony! I have a self massager but it doesn't really do the trick. It just vibrates a whole helluvalot and bumps into my spinal column- which I find ever-so-uncomfortable and makes me more tense.
But I totally didn't think about a foam roller.
I need to go snag one in the a.m. And they are super-cheap. Bonus. Thanks again.
