it will build your abs, but your diet is what gives you a 6 pack, as long as there is a layer of fat covering your abs 10,000 sit-ups per day will not help.

Whoa Dude, you got that backwards.

The fat is like wearing a jacket. You couldn't even see Ronnie Coleman's abs if he was wearing a jacket.

Prince is saying you need to get lean and lose the fat. Not gain it.
So you need to do cardio and cut your calories. Increase your protein and cut our carbs and fat intake.

Search the threads here, there are a lot of samples.

In terms of training, try weighted ab work. Hold some weight to your chest (I put it in a satchel) and do crunches, situps, etc. Adding mass to your abs will make them more visible at higher bodyfat levels. Heavily compound exercises that require abdominal muscles as a stabilizer will also help.

However, diet is most important. Head over to the diet & nutrition forum. Start by reading the stickies, and continue reading until you have a 6 pack one day.

You should set more progressive goals. You won't have a six pack all at once - aim for general visiblity of the upper abs, middle abs, and work your way into having shredded abdominals. You may get discouraged if your goals are immediately too lofty. Take it step by step

please tell me that you're not saying that you can isolate different regions of the abdominals.

No, but he will lose fat there first, and reveille top mid, then bottom. He said visibility.

Where did I say that? I said "aim for general visibility of the upper abs". Visibility would be a function of diet. I know that the abdominals are a single muscle.

I said don't aim to see the 6 pack all at once, aim to see the top first and the bottom last. That way there won't be discouragement when the six pack doesn't appear at once.
