It's one workout bro. If youre truely in this for the long haul, dont sweat it.
We all have bad WO's once in awhile...

Today was my birthday, and last night I got my gift which was an Ipod. I was real siked, and everything was cool last night until I was up real late putting songs on it.
Today at school, I was just dead tired. I knew my workout day was going to be a little off, but todays workout was by far and away one of the worst workouts I can remember.
I am wondering what you think of me going back in on one of my offdays later this week and benching more.
Is it an alright idea if I had a bad chest day on Monday to go in on friday and do about 4-6 sets of Bench Press?

I am in it for the long haul, but I also don't want to be losing or taking a step back this week.Originally Posted by Arnie's left nu
learn from it and move on bro.. aint' no thing. It happens to everyone. If you really want to get another chest WO in, go in and change the movements or sets/intensity levels or sometihng like that. nothing wrong with that

I really went back to some old habits today. I was just absolutely beat. I am going to hop in bed soon so I can make up for the rest.Originally Posted by gr81
Best part about tommorow is the fact I get to leave school at 12:30 so I can get my workout in before the Red Sox game.
So hopefully tommorow I can do better.

You are psychologically addicted to working out.
Take a few days off and watch your body fully recover. You'll be having fantastic workouts if you give yourself some time.

If I take days off, then my workout for the rest of the week is altered.Originally Posted by Duncans Donuts

I think he was suggesting take one cycle off, a week or five days, whatever it is for you. I am coming up on my 1 week off in two weeks. My body is looking forward to it.![]()

I am too addicted to workout out. I don't know what I would do for that week off. I think I am being pretty reasonable.Originally Posted by pmech
I don't suggest lifting for 4 consecutive days. Also, I second that notion of taking a week off. Just do some light cardio, or go play some sports during this week. I used to be like you; however, I am willing to bet that you will feel much better come your first workout fresh from a week of rest, even if you think you feel good now.Originally Posted by soxmuscle

I couldn't agree more with everyone here. One step back = two leaps forward! Try it... you won't be sorry.

I workout 5 consecutive days now, 4 wouldn't help?Originally Posted by CowPimp

Should I take a week off for the sake of taking a week off somply because I am tired? Personally I think the 4 day split would be excellent because I could be energized after getting alot of sleep on the weekend and workout on Sunday and Monday, then take Tuesday off where I could come home and nap all day, and then be energized once again for Wednesday and Thursday.
By the way, I took a week a week off in late july when I went to Maine and the Cape which means I have been working consecutively for only so long.
...
You work out too much. 2 hours is way too long. A 3 day split with 2 hour workouts would overtrain you.
"Should I take a week off for the sake of taking a week off somply because I am tired?"
You should take a week off so your body can recover from the unnaturally difficult amounts of stress you've suffered. You say you worked out for a time for 3 and a half hours a day? 6 days a week? 21 hours in a week is enough to overtrain you for a long time. That's probably how much I train in 4 or 5 months.

Maybe what I should do, fatigued or not, just set a time limit at an hour and a half and just leave after that time is up...
Again though, when I first started, I didn't feel tired, which is why I just kept doing more and more sets until finally I felt tired, ya know?

I can make myself feel ill due to low blood sugar in a matter of minutes on a heavy ass day (legs) without longer rest periods and Gatorade. I eat plenty of carbs at the moment so its not glycogen depletion.Originally Posted by soxmuscle
I dont think most people know what 100% training is and I tell people I'm still trying to find it myself, so honestly I dont think very many people "train hard."
