Cutting is nothing but creating muscle definition. Muscle definition is determined by amount of body fat, which is determined by diet. If you want to cut, then you need to lose body fat. Check the diet and nutrition forums here. Keep training as usual or add some cardio to burn fat.
^^yep! work out a cutting diet to get cut, but stay with the usual training. Maybe throw in some HIIT on off days.
Start by reading the sticky 'guide to..' and post your diet for a critique. Without proper diet control changing body composition will be tough.
Cutting is all in the diet. During a cut I keep my lifting pretty simple, like I dont do fancy things like pyramids or supersets, just standard lifting to keep muscle mass - youre not going for increased lean muscle, try to devote your energy to staying active and read up about good nutrition.
Diet is certainly the most important factor in losing bodyfat. However, weight training is the best exercise one can do for fat loss. By increasing muscle mass, you are effectively raising your resting metabolic rate due to the increased nutritional needs of that muscle mass. As well, weight training burns more calories than an equivalently long session of cardio.
Doing cardio to supplement the weight training will burn more calories and further raise your resting metabolic rate. However, I feel that some people go overboard. Doing cardio more than 5 days per week is totally unecessary. I prefer 1-3 days per week so as not to interfere too much with gaining muscle mass.
The only time it's bad to feel the burn is when you're peeing...
