Dumbell Rows technique - elbow out?

    Hiya All,

I'm a "hard Gainer". Re-read my "MuscleMag" sections on exercises to do.

I want to do Dumbell rows - as a COMPOUND exercise, and NOT ISOLATE individual muscles.

Should I have my Elbow in, as I pull Dumbell up? Or elbow out at 90 Degrees?

    Hope you can help
    Martin

either way works. It is really two different planes of motion. Elbows in is more sagital (shoulder extension) and elbows falred out is more horizontal (horizontal extension of the shoulder). On the elbows out you are getting a good amount of rear delts and rhomboids as your scapula adducts more during the movement. It is good to alternate between the two. Also, you may want to do some sets at the angle at with you bench press (the opposite of your bench press) as it will help that lift greatly.

Good info. I always advocate doing perpendicular rows as a compound rear delt exercise.
