Hey spikey 1257 don't be cruel man. If you never reach 200 lbs on the bench i won't tell anyone. I see your all cut up spouting those 13" arms. It's ok not to believe. Talk to you on my next post.

Even today I'd think it pretty damn outstanding as a raw bench, if we are talking teens then I wouldn't know - were there even teen classes back then? I should have taken that into consideration I was looking at all-time for the era, not by age.Originally Posted by chris mason

To be frank, I do not know that there were any federations per se in 1966. If there were they were few and far between.
My point in posting them would only be to show someone benching that much in 1966 would be very unusual indeed. Add it being a teen to the mix and you have one in a million.

I could agree with that for the most part, even today it would be pretty rare - natural or not.

Now spikey it's 42", and hopefully it grows a little more while I'm bulking. See at 277 lbs I'll never have ab's like your. but then again I'm not interested in being the size that the average person benches in one hand.
Now if you want to get big like most people posting on these forums, please sit down and eat your wheatie's and spinach.
Forgot one thing........Please and I mean please....DRINK MILK!
Talk to you on my next post son!
a story thats nearly 40 years old is starting arguments.![]()
i dont doubt the guy lifted a lot of weight, but after 40 years, i doubt the facts and stats are that accurate. who cares.....![]()
Seriously guys, this is one post not worth arguing over.

Forget the story and poundage, probably fiction.
More interesting are guys like this-any kind of training would yield results, they just wouldn't be optimized because of the overtraining but for someone like this it wouldn't matter much.
