i would let your body heal your sickness rather than your muscles. give youself a couple days.

For the first time since I've started working out, I find myselft ill. Is it OK to workout when you are not well? I've got some sort of sinus congestion.
Thanks for any info.

cutting sucks.
I agree. I usually will continue to workout with a minor cold, but not if it's more serious. I lost some significant weight and strength not too terribly long ago when I was sick for about a week. It sucks, but it's part of life.

This is a very scary story and would suck terribly bad if that happened. I feel sorry for the guy.

Sinuses I dont know much about, but I had a cold for about 2 weeks because I worked through it.

i go unless im coughing alot so that i dont drop a bar on my face or somthing if i start hacking like a chronic smoker in the middle of an exercise. Thats about it.
Damn

it depends on just how sick I am, but typically I do not train when I am sick, my body needs all of the energy to fight off the illness.
Thats exactly what happened to me, as I stated in the other thread. Luckily, I didnt have it as long as some other people. I have heard stories where it lingers for over a year though.Originally Posted by swick

When I have flu (temp and aches), I found that if I put on full sweats and ride the bike for 30 minutes, work up a good sweat, take a shower and then get a good nights sleep, it is gone the next day.Originally Posted by cfs3
For a regular cold, this does not work for me. I just work out easy unless I have a hacking cough, then not at all.
