Angry Broken Hand Holding me down

Well to make a long story short I broke the middle metacarpal in my hand playing lacrosse. This is the first time ive ever had a cast and was seeking some advice.

All I can say is this thing sucks. There will def be no lifting for a while, though I have been catching up on cardio and doing legs on occasion.

Has anyone done this b4? If so, what was your routine when you started back up again? Running makes this thing smell baaaad Any advice on that??

    Thanks all...

    Sli,
Baking soda should help on that smell.Dust the damp part and shake off the excess. As far as strengthening the hand after the cast is off. I don't know what they're called but they are hand squeeze springs. You've seen them a thousand times. 'V' shaped and you squeeze them together.Get better gloves before you play again.

That's a good idea. It may sound stupid, but you may also want to just hold dumbbells at your sides to work on grip even more. Just a thought...

If its one of those scented ones, the dryer sheet might make you itchy, which is the last thing you need when you've got a cast on.
