    Quick question:

As usual, I've been doing research on lifting. I have since corrected my deadlift form, and also read a very informative page on powerlifitng. I started to use the powerlifting technique in that I do exercises for explosive strength and power (very fast positive rep and a little slower negative rep). I did this new technique for the first time today on deadlifts, squats, and skullcrushers. I loved it. It was my best workout ever. My question is: Can I use the powerlifting technique on everything (including DB presses, flies, curls, hammer curls, military presses and shrugs)? Is it also used for benching? I've been trying to increase my max bench without actually benching (can only get a spotter occasionally, which is when I max out), so I use DB presses and flies. Would this technique help to raise my maxes? Thanks in advance.

Yes use this technique on compound lifts (involving more than one joint) like the bench press. I would be cautious on using the explosive movements on isolated lifts like curls, but like I said be cautious. You could also mix it up, go slow and steady then faster. Experiment.

CAT (compensatory acceleration training) is a technique that can be used with any exercise (just be careful on the negative) it will teach your muscles to be able to generate maximum force quickly which basically equals power (work/time if i'm not mistaken) and will recruit a maximum amount of fibers even with light weights if used correctly.
